Service questions

What is a liner service?

A fixed loop of ports that a group of ships sails in turn, usually once a week. Each Savannah call in GPA's schedule carries the code of the service the ship is on, so the same service code comes round every week with a different ship.

Where do the transit times come from?

From GPA's Global Container Services route maps and transit matrix for the Port of Savannah. They are the carriers' published port-to-port days; the actual voyage can run a day or two either side.

Why do some services have no rotation table?

Extra loaders and new strings appear in GPA's schedule before they are in GPA's route maps. We show their calls and cutoffs, and add the rotation once it is published.

Need the fastest service to your port?

Tell us the destination. We compare the services and carriers on that lane and book the sailing that fits your timing.
